About the Breeds

A Couple Notes

Genetics control parts of nearly everything from looks, shedding levels to personalities in a pup so we can not guarantee anything when it comes to temperament just based on the breed name.  Training is also something that is a huge factor when it comes to the personality and overall temperament in a dog. We feel early socialization and consistent behavioral training with clear expectations given to the pup will shape your dog sometimes more than genetics.

The Poodle
Originating from Germany, the Poodle is a well established breed and known for intelligence, a dense, curly coat, little to no shedding and while no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, the Poodle comes close!

They are affectionate, energetic, friendly, extremely trainable and generally do well with children.

Bernedoodles
Bernedoodles are a mix of a Poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog.
From the farmlands of Switzerland, the workhorse Bernese Mountain Dog’s temperament is usually gentle, loyal, placid, affectionate, social, sweet-natured and eager to please.  They shed and drool quite a bit and do not live very long lives.
Blending the two breeds makes an incredibly well-rounded, low to no shedding dog that usually lives around 12-18 years. They appreciate their playtime as a way to work their jiggles out. They are affectionate and fun all at the same time.

Goldendoodle
Goldendoodles are a mix of Poodle and Golden Retriever.
The Golden Retriever hails from Scottland and is one of the most popular breeds in the US today. Their loyalty, playfulness, intelligence and friendliness with children make them perfect family pets.

Blending the two breeds makes an adorable and unstoppable combination of looks, intelligence and playfulness. They come with varying sizes, coat types and colors, so there’s a good chance you’ll fall in love with one of them. Goldendoodles make nearly the ultimate family dog due to their extremely social personality and friendliness.

Aussiedoodle
Aussiedoodles are a mix of Poodle and Australian Shepherd.
Australian Shepherds are athletic, energetic, extremely intelligent and eager to please. Descending from European herding dogs around the Pyrenees Mountains. Those dogs then made their way to Australia by way of the indigenous Basque peoples who crossbred them with border collies to make them ninja level herders. Eventually they made their way to California and the Western US and lived up to their ninja legends.

Blending these two breeds is something special. Aussies are hyper intelligent, and may even be able to play chess if given enough training. Extremely friendly, playful, and devoted to their families. You’ll often find them ‘herding the children’ if a young one wonders to far out in the yard. They love to play toss and catch and anything else that will get their brain and legs going.

Australian Mountain Doodles

Overall, Australian Mountain Doodles are similar to Bernedoodles in size and color. The AMD’s usually look very similar to a merle bernedoodle in coloring- tri markings with copper tones, black and white and the merle of a blueish grey in their overall coat.

Both mini bernedoodle and the mini australian mountain doodle litters will be wavy coated, low to no shedding and hypo-allergenic.

They are the same price.

In regards to personality, they will be very similar with slight differences because an Australian Shepherd is added to the mix. You will most likely find them slightly easier to train than a Bernedoodle as the Aussie in them adds some more intelligence to the mix.Generally speaking (because each pup will have his unique temperament and can vary),  both will be on your lap or at your feet once they are out of their puppy phase.

When can we meet the puppy?
You’ll get a chance to meet the pups in person on Pick Day, around 6 weeks and then on Adoption Day when you take her home!

We do weekly litter updates via YouTube/Instagram/etc where we will weigh, inspect and give you a chance to see the pups well before the 6 week mark. As they grow older we’ll get to see how their unique personalities will start to develop and we’ll be able to help describe those traits during those updates as well.

We want to make every effort to make sure you’re as comfortable with your pick as possible. If that means multiple emails, phone calls, Zoom calls, whatever, we’re willing to schedule and plan that communication out as we know that adopting a new pup is a big commitment!

Where are you located?

Cambridge, MN, 30 minutes or so north of Minneapolis/St.Paul

What if I’m out of state/not local ?
**Since you aren’t local, we host our puppy pick day over a video call so you can see the puppies and we can talk thru their differences that way.

We also have 3 options for you in regards to pick up. We can meet you at the MSP airport.OrWe can use our flight nanny to fly the pup to your local airport. She charges $500 plus round trip ticket from MSP. The puppy flies in cabin with her.Or You can drive up and we can meet you here!

What kind of socialization training do your puppies get?
We’re a very small family run breeder, so our pups are a part of our family too! They get time with us and our children to explore both outdoors and indoors to help get them ready for their new homes.

How do I get on the waiting list?
After completing our ‘Non Refundable Deposit Agreement’ and sending in your deposit via Venmo.

How are your pups raised?
We are a family-run breeder.  This means every member of our family plays an important role in raises our puppies.  My girls help with the delivery of each pup inside our home (even if that means they stay up all night with me). They get the pleasure of choosing the litter theme name for the litter and naming each one as are born.My son helps with pictures, videos and all the editing and tech support that I need (I am not super techy so I am very grateful). Everyone helps with the daily TLC that goes into raises pups and taking care of our adult dogs. From poo scooping to bathing/brushing and socializing/playing; they play a very impactful role in ensuring the pup is exposed to a real family and all the noise, touch and adventures that daily life entails. They are raised in our home and loved by everyone each day of their lives here. When they are ready to start eating mush, they start to learn about the crate. They eat their meals in a crate and sleep in a crate. They learn that their crate is a good thing and their safe den, not a punishment.
They sleep with their littermates and next to other adult dogs at night to get them use to sleeping independently. Once they have had their Parvo vaccine, they are allowed to play outside in our fenced in turf area that is safe for puppy playtime. They learn outside is the place for potty/poo but do not leave here potty trained. We will discuss with you what cues to watch for so you know how to continue the process of teaching them to relieve themselves outside.

How does your deposit/waitlist system work?
We place families on our waiting list on a first come first served basis based on the timestamp of when their deposit comes in.  We allow you to be on one list at a time to make sure we are able to give a very accurate picture as to how many puppies are available to other families. Our deposit is non-refundable but is transferable. That means, if at anytime you change your mind and would like to be moved to a different litter, we can move you to the next available spot on the  waiting list of our choice. This deposit is a sign of your commitment to joining our pack with the intention of adoption.

How big will the puppies get?

  • Mini Bernedoodles: ~25-45lbs
  • Mini Goldendoodles: ~25-35lbs
  • Mini Aussiedoodles: ~15-40lbs

Can you tour your facility?

Unfortunately, since we’re small and family run, we don’t allow ‘strangers’ out to our home for tours or to meet the mamas. We value our privacy and because of our size, we don’t have a facility/means to host the public effectively, hence we are very much private.

In addition, we currently, and frequently have newborn, unvaccinated for Parvo (very much dangerous to our entire program) puppies on our grounds and should a member of the public unknowingly bring Parvo in, it would be devastating to our program. Navigating in and around the schedules of puppies onsite or not is too complicated, so we simply blanket statement – no outside visitors.

It comes down to privacy and bio-security.

That said, I’d be more than willing to video call with you to meet what mamas that may be available (many mamas live with guardian homes).

Thanks for your understanding.

Can I meet the parents?

Unfortunately, we don’t allow the public to meet the parent dogs. There are a few reasons, but the primary reason is liability based. While our parents are our pets, are awesome and love people, we know that they are still animals. One bad reaction to a stranger, strange smell, strange voice or presence that may result in some sort of perceived injury whether physical, emotional or otherwise and we would possibly have to put the animal down by law. We aren’t willing to “take that risk” so to speak, even though we believe that risk is essentially zero. Our society is aggressively litigious and we’ve decided to simply not expose ourselves to that in this way.We are more than willing to have you “meet” the parents via video call. Some our our parents live with guardian homes so we do need advanced notice to arrange this.

How does your adoption process work?

Making sure each one of our puppies finds the right home is very important to us. This is why we wait until their personalities and temperaments develop before we host our Puppy Pick Day, which is around 6 weeks of age. This is also after they have had their Parvo vaccine. We take biosecurity seriously and do our best to protect our puppies and mamas.

On Puppy Pick Day, we have families on our waiting list come out in person and meet/pick out their puppy. We give each family, in the order that their name is on the waiting list, 30mins to sit and play with all the available puppies. I’ll talk about each pup’s temperament and answer any questions you may have. It is our favorite day and always a ton of fun!!  If you aren’t local or can’t make the in person visit, we host your selection time over a video call.

We place families on our waiting list on a first come first serve basis based on when their deposits come in. The deposit is $250 via Venmo.

When the puppies are 8 wks old, they are ready to go home! The rest of the adoption fee is due at that time We currently only accept cash as a final payment.

How big are the parents?
This will vary from litter to litter, so check out our Upcoming Litters for details of our mommies and daddies.

How do you accept payment?
We accept Venmo for our deposit and the balance in cash only upon puppy pickup day or before.
